Conundrums & Controversy: Does the Eucharist (Lord's Supper) Make Christians Cannibals?Conniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16624728134929059941noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4902564489239485922.post-89228000819730924782011-12-05T18:24:28.180-08:002011-12-05T18:24:28.180-08:00Thank you so much for the compliment. I have read ...Thank you so much for the compliment. I have read the interpretation you mention before. There seems to be a contradiction in the Scriptures as to what day it was, but after spending a great deal of time trying to analyze the situation, I came to the conclusion that there is something missing in the information that will ever settle this debate. Therefore I chose to believe Christ's words over a nebulous interpretation of John 13:1 which does not seem a really good grammatical sentence to start with. As for the word "artos" meaning leavened bread as proof that it couldn't be the Passover, while in modern Greek it might have that meaning, in ancient Greek it was not that specific. It simply meant a loaf of bread, leavened or unleavened. I choose to not build an interpretation on such evidence when Christ told them to prepare a Passover seder. I am going to err on the side of believing Christ's words rather than a questionable definition of the word "bread." As for the verses that refer to when Christ was removed from the cross because it was the day of preparation, I am still working on trying to understand the timing of all this. There are two prep days. One for the Passover, and one for the weekly Sabbath, which on some years is also the Sabbath that is the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It does make everything confusing. If one chooses the opposite view from what I present, then there are all the verses in the first three gospels that give you major problems. So one simply has to choose a side. I chose to go with Christ's words, that's all.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16624728134929059941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4902564489239485922.post-3074182240450794002011-12-04T05:28:50.930-08:002011-12-04T05:28:50.930-08:00Hi Connie,
